Piril Kaftan (b. 1993-Istanbul) lives and works between Istanbul and Los Angeles, California. She earned her MFA in PTDW from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, recipient of the New Artist Society Award. In her paintings, drawings and sculptures, she employs the fundamentals of collage and material exploration to bridge automatism and symbolism as well as spirituality against her multi-cultural background.
